Digital Service Design

Designing services is different from designing products. In contrast to products being discrete and tangible objects, services are co-produced by people and only provide value when they are actually used. Digital services represent a specific category of services and specifically leverage and integrate information technology in the service delivery process. Today, modern service delivery is heavily dependent on digital platforms.

In the research area “Digital Service Design” we are investigating design processes and practices, social aspects on the design team level to increase digital service ease of use and experience. Furthermore, we are delivering advanced tool support for supporting a scalable, mass-user  digital service design.
