GI-Workshop: Value-Sensitive Design of Internet-Based Services: Towards an Integration of Technology and Values

Internet-based services become more relevant for people and promote huge potentials for a more sustainable society. However, there are various issues in providing Internet-based services, i.e. conflicting interests between different stakeholder groups of providers, consumers and governance actors. A prominent example is represented by delivering privacy data between customers and providers. For instance, governance actors are heavily motivated by social values, such as human rights and constitutional law, whereas providers concentrate more on the economic value of personal data driving their business models.

The workshop “Value-Sensitive Design of Internet-Based Services: Towards an Integration of Technology and Values” in the “46. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Informatik” follows an interdisciplinary approach and specifically addresses research dealing with the different interests among stakeholders in the context of designing and delivering Internet-based services.

Organizer: Prof. Dr. Martina Zitterbart, Prof. Dr. Hannes Hartenstein, Prof. Dr. Alexander Mädche
